(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-i9Rn-~aa <br />INSPECTION DATE: ~-~a-D~ INSPECTORS INITIALS: _BlL_ <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site on 7-24-01. The main purpose of the inspection <br />was to familiarize the two new employees of the Division, Kate Pickford and Adolph Amundson about Leah <br />pad operations. The area had received a considerable amount of precipitation the night before and some of <br />the diversion structures were still holding some water and appeared to have functioned as designed. The <br />physical inspection of the site began with an over view of the project from the American eagle observation <br />location. The main parts of the operation were pointed to the new employees from that location. Continued <br />the inspection to the main office, where the new employees were introduced to the managers of the <br />different operations of the mine. With Phil Barnes of CC&V present, the inspection began around the phase <br />III leach pad area, temporary diversion work and road relocation work were continuing. According to Phil, <br />the temporary diversion work in the area should be wmpleted by the end of the month. Continued the <br />inspection to the phase II pregnant solution collection area. Phil Barnes gave a brief presentation of how <br />the solution was sprinkled to the pad and collected and pumped to the process plant. While in the area, the <br />following readings were collected from the Phase II high and low volume solution collection system <br />transducers. <br />High volume transducer # 4 was recorded at 20.6, # 5 were recorded at 13.4 and # 6 were recorded at <br />20.6. <br />Low volume transducer # 1 was recorded at .OS and # 2 were recorded at .Ol feet of head. While in the <br />area, observed the highway relocation bridge construction, and the underdrain discharge from the crest of <br />the toe dam embankment, no problem noted. Both lined ponds were holding some water. <br />Continued the inspection to the external pond area, pond was holding some water from the considerable <br />precipitation the area received the day before. While in the area, walked inside the process plant and Phil <br />explained how the gold was recovered from the solution. Continued the inspection to the crusher are, it was <br />active, Phil Barnes gave a brief presentation of how the ore was crushed and transported to the leach pad. <br />Continued the inspection to the Main Cresson pit area, it was active, no problem noted.
