Primary and
secondary spillways appeared to be clear of sediment and debris, and capable of functioning
as designed.
Sediment Pond 2, located along the west side of the permit area, was dry, no discharge noted.
The pond embankment, inslopes and bottom were well vegetated and stable. Primary and
secondary spillways appeared to be clear of sediment and debris, and capable of functioning
as designed.
Sediment Containment Ditch for Pond 2 Evidence of erosion and sedimentation was
observed in the sediment containment ditch which conveys affected area drainage to Pond 2.
Rock check dams were intact for the upper portions of the ditch. However, maintenance clean
out of sediment between the check dams is necessary to ensure their continued function and
to ensure adequate capacity for the ditch. Evidence of erosion was observed in the steep slope
portions of the ditch. Maintenance of the rock check dams for the steep portions of the ditch is
necessary to ensure stability and function of the ditch.
