III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Hamilton Mine for the month of November, 1998.
RECORDS: Records were inspected and found to be satisfactory. See page 5 of this report for
further details.
ROADS: The roads are in satisfactory condition and do not require any maintenance.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: All ditches and culverts are clear and capable of functioning as
designed. Pond B was damp and pond A had about 1 foot of water at this time.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS: The site's reclamation vegetation is doing the best since the site was
reclaimed. Numerous new growth was observed in the cultivation grooves. Several patches of
thistle and knapweed were sprayed. The site has received a nice amount of rain and snow in the
past month which should significantly help the vegetation next spring. The site will again be
used for winter feeding of cattle which has proved to be extremely beneficial in adding new seeds
and organic material throughout the site.
