INSPECTION REPORT - PAGE 2
FILE N0. M-82-155
DATE: May 7, 1986
OBSERVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. A pre-mining inspection of the proposed amendment area was conducted;
Ms. Kathleen Moss accompanied the inspector.
2. Natural vegetation composed of Blue grams, Buffalograss, Big sagebrush,
fringed sagebrush and various prairie fortis (globemallow, slimstem scurfpea,
etc.) were noted on the level areas. Dissected draws were dominated by
Skunkbrush sumac (Rhus trilobata), and inhabited by snowberry
(Symphoricarpus), an occasionaT~cottonwood tree, and aforementioned grasses.
3. Persuant to this inspection, the proposed amended revegetation
seedmixture would better reflect natural conditions if Buffalograss replaced
the Streambank wheatgrass component, and the replacement of mountain mahogany
with Skunkbrush sumac.
4. The active operation was briefly inspected.
5. The disturbance observed was reflected in the 1985 Annual Report.
6. Topsoil and overburden stockpiles were graded, and are planned for
revegetation in 1986.
/tmb
Doc. No. 0152E
