M-86-160/Highwall reclamation
7/7/98
page 2
Another question involves topsoil replacement on the area of the ridge. Topsoil is
especially on the county permit. Your permit area presumably has enough of it sto
within your permit, which is required for final release. But will reclamation on the
include trying to blend the topsoiling or will there be an abrupt change at the bount
revegetation plans for the two pits are different, though that is a smaller issue than
short supply,
piled for use
ared ridge
y line? The
grading.
Will Parkerson Construction be performing this grading work? Please comment o any
consideration of the setbacks from the powerpoles, for reasons of stability, that wi] be made.
Also please comment on the protections to be made, if any, for the irrigation ditch ownhill from
the ridge.
I do not expect that you can answer all these questions, particularly ones involving the county's
reclamation. I am sending a copy of this letter to Bob Carman at the county office to
communicate my questions about this shared project to him also. Please clarify the questions I
have as well as you can, though. As far as this Division is concerned, it seems that the work you
plan to do on your permit area conforms to the approved reclamation plan. I look
seeing the finished reclamation work.
If you have questions, or need to discuss any aspect of the upcoming work which
from your approved plan, please contact me at the following address or phone:
Division of Minerals and Geology
484 Turner Dr., Bldg.
