As reported in the earlier inspection report for the all of the
work as approved by the MLRD BOARD, for Amendment # 8 expansion is now
complete. Certification report for the expansion area was submitted in
October. Review of the report was completed on 11/21/04, no problems noted.
The pad expansion was constructed as approved in Amendment # 8.
Present during the inspection was, Phil Barnes of CC&V. The area had
received some snow the night before and it was snowing at the time of the
inspection. Inspected the Phase IVC leach pad area. Ore loading and
application of solution was continuing, as verbally approved by DMG during
the certification review period, as was done in the past. In addition to
weekly inspection, during construction a weekly construction report was
provided each week. On site QA.QC,was also conducted by Golder and
associates, the design engineers.
Inspected the PHASE I,II, ITI AND IV leach pad areas and collected the
following readings from the High and Low volume solution collection
transducers.
Phase I High volume solution collection transducer #1 was recorded at
47.8 # 2 was at51.0 and # 3 was at 51.3.Low volume #1 was recorded at .24
and # 2 was at .27. Piezometer for the pond was measured at 42.6 feet.
Phase II and III High Volume solution collection transducer # 4 was
recorded at 37.0 # 5 was at 34.4 and #6 was at 38.4. Low volume # 1 was at
.13 and # 2 was at .48. Piezometer for the pond was recorded at 38.7.
Phase IV High Volume solution collection transducer # 7 was recorded at
33.4 # 8 was at 32.5 #9 was at 33.5 and 10 was at 33.8. Low volume
transducer # 1 was recorded at 12.7 and # 2 was at 17.2.
Inspected the external pond, it was holding some partially frozen water,
while in the area, recorded the following readings from the Low Volume
solution collection transducers. # 1 was recorded at 12.1 and # 2 was at
10.2.
NOTE: Transducer readings for Phase IV low volume and External pond are in
inches of hydrostatic head. All other readings are in feet of hydrostatic
head. Inspected the under-drain, both the flinch pipe and south under-drain
were discharging, no problem noted.
