(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1981-103
INSPfiCTION DATE 11/09/06 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC
OHSBRVATION3
This was an inspection of the Beech Hill Quarries conducted by Erica Crosby of the Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology. Abe Vasquez and Vic Norris of Blue Mountain Stone were
present during the inspection.
The initial 110c Mining and Reclamation Permit was issued in 1981. Ther permit was
eventually amended and converted into a 112 permit in 2001 for a total of 32.10 acres. The
Division holds a financial warranty in the amount of $68,000.00.
The Bite is located 5 miles north of Lyons in Larimer County, Colorado. Amine
identification sign was posted at the entrance to the site. The permit area was
delineated with boundary markers and existing fences.
The site was actively being mined and reclaimed during the inspection. A dozer was
grading the site to a slope of approximately 3h:ly. The operator stated that topsoil from
the yard area will be hauled in and spread to the regired depth. Once the site ie
topsoiled, the area will be seeded with the approved seed-mixture. Attached is a copy of
the approved aeedmixture. It appears that approximately 2 acres is in the process of being
reclaimed.
The operator ie interested in an acreage swap on the 4.494 acre tract to the north. This
area has not been disturbed by mining. The operator would like to apply this acreage on
the eastern aide of the property where the deposit is a better quality. Attached is the
Division's Policy memo regarind additions and deletions of acreage where no disturbance
has occurred.
2 & 8 Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Abe Vasquez ^ BL
OPERATOR Blue Mountain Stone ^ FS
STREET 4168 Ute Hwy. ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP Longmont, Colorado 80503 ^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
Cc: Carl Mount; DRMS
