(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1989-112
INSPECTION DATE 07/1 3120 0 6 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS DEG
OBSERVATIONS
This routine monitoring inspection of Permit Number M-1989-112 (Refuge Pit #1) was conducted by Deb E. Gbnima of the
DMG. Moffat County representative Marvin Moore was present during this inspection. The pit is located 47 miles west of
Maybell, CO, and currently consists of approximately 9.8 acres where approximately 9 acres have been disturbed. The site is Y=
mile south of CO Highway 318 and the southern permit boundary is adjacent to Brown's Park W ildlife Refuge.
Mine entrance signs and permit boundary markers are all in place, and topsoil stockpiles are all well-marked. All activities and
completed work at the time of inspection appeared to follow the guidelines and regulations set forth by the state and the mining
and reGamation plans for the pit, and no problems are noted for this site. The site is stable and no disturbance was observed
outside of the approved permit boundaries. For future reference, this site is correctly positioned in the DMG online GIS.
Two large material stockpiles are situated near the northern-center of the site, and the pit area basins fall on the eastern portion
of the site. The topsoil stockpile has been constructed near the southern corner of the western permit boundary. The storm
water runoff control program that was implemented a few years back seems to have been successful in its use of diversion
structures, sediment traps, and small ponding areas. There appears to be no offsite erosion, and no long-term (greater than 72
hours) water retention was observed.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Deb E. Gbnima at the Division of Minerals and Geclogy, Denver
Office, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, phone number 303-866-4179.
I & E Contact Address
cc:
^ CE
NAME Mr. Marvin Moore ^ BL
OPERATOR Moffat County ^ FS
STREET 1570 Rannev Street ^ HN/
CITY/STATE/ZIP Craio, CO 81625 ^ HMWMD (CH}
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
cc: Bill Mack, Moffat County Road Department, P.O.
