III Illllllllllll Ill
999
June 12, 2000
Ms. Erica Crosby
=-
'R~ttleApplegate,lnc.
Consultants for Land, Mineral and Water
Division of Minerals and Geology
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
RECEIVED
JUN 13 2000
Division of Minerals & Gellbpy
RE: May 10, 2000 Inspection Report, corrective actions required, Hall Irwin
Construction Corporation Permit No. M-83-090
Dear Ms. Crosby:
In response to a Division inspection Report dated May 10, 2000, corrective actions have
been taken regazding problems noted with the drainage culvert between the McNaney
property and Pond No. 1, or the "fishpond." During the inspection, sediment was noted
in the ditch leading to the culvert inlet and in the culvert outlet. The ditch leading from
the culvert outlet to the fishpond also contained some standing water. The corrective
action required of the operator was to clean the ditches and the culvert outlet to ensure
positive drainage. The operator commits to completing this by Friday, June 16, 2000.
Also required of the operator was a reclamation plan for the culvert corridor in the form
of a Technical Revision. Upon reclamation, the culvert between the McNaney property
and the fishpond will be removed. An open chamrel Swale will be constructed in its
place. The Swale will be trapezoidal with a 3-foot bottom width and 3H:1 V side slopes.
The channel inverts on the upstream and downstream sides will be [he same as the culvert
inverts. which will result in a slope con•espondine to existine prior [o culvert installation.
as noted by the Division. The Swale will be reseeded with a seed mixture corresponding
to the native grasses of the area.
We believe the operator has met the Division's expectations with these corrective actions.
Please call if you have any questions or require additional information. Thanks.
Sincerely,
TUTTLE APPLEGATE, INC.
Dana Moore, EIT
CC Jeff Gregg, Hall Irwin Constmction Corporation
1 1990 Grant Sf. • Suite 304 • Denver, CO 80233 5441 Boeing Drive • Suite 200 • Loveland, CO 80538-8855
(303) 452-6677 • Fax (303) A52-2759 (970) 461-988Q • Fax (970) 613-1177
