(Page 2) <br />MINE ID# OR PROSPECTING ID# M-1980-239 INSPECTION DATE 04/14/04 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRS <br />This was a routine monitoring inspection of the Sweeney Pit #30, conducted by Gregg Squire of <br />the Division of Minerals and Geology. Marvin Moore, consultant for Moffat County was also <br />present. The pit is located near the Juniper Hot Springs. <br />Moffat County has recently implemented a storm water runoff control program at its pits. <br />Through the use of a combination of perimeter ditches and berms, diversion structures and <br />sediment traps, and in-pit ponding areas, -the vast majority of surface run off generated on- <br />site is contained within each pit. <br />The original portion of this pit, the BLM area, has had the mininig completed and the grading <br />and reclamation should be completed this summer. The expansion (Kennecott) area is currently <br />active, although there was no equipment at the site, there is a 50,000+ yard stockpile of <br />crushed material on site. There is also a stockpile of topsoil on the west side of the <br />permit area. <br />The Permit ID sign was posted at the entrance to the site. The permit boundaries were <br />located, no disturbance was observed outside the permit boundaries.
