According to Williams Construction personnel, the wash plant settling basin was
excavated and no water was encountered. The settling basin was dry for at least
seven days until water for the settling basin was imported.
2. The 200 gallon tank provides fuel for one of the generators. The drums with a
capacity of 55 gallons or less contain oil for the generators, crusher, mobile
equipment and wash plant. Regarding this oil, please refer to 40 CFR Part 112-Oil
Pollution Prevention. This facility is exempt from containment regulations because
its above ground storage capacity is 1,320 gallons or less. However, the following
actions have been taken:
a. The drums with a capacity of 55 gallons or less will routinely be stored inside
a van trailer. If the drums are stored outside, they will be within an
impervious containment.
b. The 200 gallon tank will be placed inside an impervious containment.
c. The 4,000 gallon +/-trailer mounted fuel tank is not subject to containment
regulations.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
.~~~~-
J. E.
