Ohio Creek Coal Co.
Revoked - DMG administered
OC #2 Mine
C-002-80
Partial special focus oversight inspection
4/25/2000
Mitch Rollings, 370, OSM
This is a reclaimed bond forfeiture site. The site was inspected as part of a special focus
review being conducted an all Colorado bond forfeiture sites to determine if any off site
impacts exist; be they bad water discharges, erosion which extends off site, sediment
deposition below the site, etc.
All highwalls have been eliminated on this mine site. A county road leads up to the mine
entrance.
The clean water diversion and the lower diversion that directs runoff to the single
sedimentation pond are still in place and functional. More than likely, the small amount
of bond money left will be used to eliminate these ditches. Runoff from the topsoil
stockpile is the only disturbed area runoff that does not drain to the sedimentation pond.
The topsoil in this pile will be used for reclamation of the diversions and pond.
The site is well vegetated and no gullies were evident.
No off-site impacts were observed.
