This inspection was conducted as part of the 4-year monitoring program in the Division of Minerals and
Geology. Present at the inspection were Kate Pickford, DMG and Greg Nelson, Weld County Public Works
Department. Weather at the time of the inspection was clear, calm, and approximately 45 degrees.
2. The sign posted at the entrance to the site was for another site, the Peters Pit, M-1986-001. Boundaries at the
site were marked. Topsoil stockpiles on the site are vegetated and appear to contain and adequate amount
of material with which to reclaim the site. A large amount of material is stockpiled on the site. Once the pile of
material is removed, mining will continue where the stockpile currently sits and continue into the undisturbed
areas of the site. The first area to be mined has been graded, seeded, and the vegetation is well established.
3. All activities and completed work at the time of inspection appeared to be following the guidelines set forth
in the mining plan for the pit. With the exception of improper signage at the entrance to the site, all operations
and conditions at the time of the inspection fall within regulations.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Greg Nelson
OPERATOR: Weld County Puhlic Works
STREET: P.O_ Rox 7.58
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Greeley C'O 80632
cc: 1 CE
I' BL
I' FS
t HW
t HMWMD (CH)
t SE
t WOCD (CH)
t OTHER: Carl Mount, DMG
