III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
OC #2 Mine C-80-002
13 Sept 2004 ~-~-~
Below ore comments on the Inspection. The comments Include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the OC #2 Mine conducted by Jim Stark of CDMG.
The permit for the OC #2 Mine has been revoked. The weather was warm and sunny
and the ground was dry.
The remaining pond was dry at the time of the inspection. The pond embankment
was stable and well vegetated and no signs of cracking or erosion were seen.
The reclaimed portal area was well vegetated and appeared to be stable. No
cracks were seen in the backfill. No erosiona! problems were observed in the
reclamation.
The site is in its eighth year of liability and appears to be doing very well. All of the
vegetation was brown (like the surrounding areas) and, although it does not appear
to be as dense as the surrounding area, it is growing and appears to be stabilizing the
reclamation. No erosional problems were noted on the site.
