Review of Blasting Operations of Snmmit Brick <br />Blasting and Explosive Use, 4.0 cony <br />4.q Department Of Transportation (DOT): <br />DOT has authority over all shipments of hazardous materials within or through the <br />United States and its possessions. Shipments of hazardous materials by truck, plane, <br />ship, or other modes are governed by the authority and regulations of the DOT. The <br />enforcement branches of the DOT are: the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA}, <br />the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), and the <br />Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). <br />Office of Hazardous Materials: <br />DOT's Of£ce of Hazardous Materials (OHMT) is responsible for developing and <br />publishing rules regarding classification and transportation of hazardous materials.
