This inspection was conducted on July , 2005. GCC Rio Grande, Inc.
(Rio Grande) received the inspection report on September 6, 2005. The inspection report listed two
action items including updating the identification signs at the entrance to the mine and establishing
markers that cleazly delineate the boundary of the permit azea.
Identification Siens The identification signs at the entrance to the mine have been updated to
include the name of the operator, a statement indicating that a reclamation permit for the operation
has been issued by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board, and the Permit Number. This
work was completed on September 28, 2005. I have included photographs of the updated signs for
your review.
Permit Area Boundary Markers After reviewing maps of the permit area, it has become clear that
to ensure the accurate placement of the boundary markers, it will be necessary to perform a
professional survey of the permit area boundary. Given the large size of the permit area Rio Grande
is requesting an extension to November 30, 2005 in which to complete this work. Rio Grande has
not yet commenced mining operations at the site. When mining operations are commenced, the
initial mining effort will be well within the boundaries of the permit area. Rio Grande greatly
appreciates your consideration of this extension request.
Please don't hesitate to contact me at (505) 286-6026 should you have any questions regazding this
information.
Sincerely,
Brian D.
