(Page 3)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-2002-114
INSPECTION DATE: 5/10/05
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
Overall the site is clean and well maintained. No erosion, stormwater or off site impacts aze noted. This site in the
inspector's opinion is the flagship for how United /Old Castle should run and maintain all of its sites. The mine
and reclamation plans appear to be being followed as approved. Additionally any changes are discussed and
approved prior to any actions contrary to the plans on file with this Office. United is to be commended for its efforts
at this site and staff hopes it carries over to other sites.
The reclamation cost estimate was not recalculated as part of this inspection. The current estimate was calculated less than
three years ago and the operation is in compliance with the approved mine plan and reclamation plan. Therefore, the current
financial warranty is believed to be adequate to reclaim the site per the approved reclamation plan. The Technical Revision to
add in the permanent building and septic system will adjust the bond upon approval.
No issues or problems noted at this time.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no. 970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE
NAME: Brent Kerr ^ BL
OPERATOR: United /Old Castle ^ FS
STREET: P.O.
