OBSERVATIONS
The following observations were made as part of a routine surety release inspection done at
the request of the Operator.
This site was previously inspected in November 1997, when less of the reclamation work was
completed. At that time, stockpiles of material were still in place on the site, and the
grading around the ponds had not been completed. During this inspection it was noted that the
grading and topsoiling of all the pond slopes had been completed, and that while the road
construction and grading of the areas north of the pit continued, the major components of the
reclamation work had been completed. There is no vegetation on several of the slopes of these
four ponds, but they appear to have been seeded or chiseled recently.
