(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-7000-078
INSPECTION DATE: t 7/7/00 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: JCS
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted primarily to check completion of a corrective action required as a result of
an earlier inspection of the site. The operator, Mike Ferrero, and the landowner, Larry Menegatti, arrived at
the site during the inspection. The pit was inactive at the time of the inspection.
The ID sign was in order and the permit area boundaries were adequately marked.
Inspection revealed that the operator, as requested, had separated the salvaged topsoil from other
overburden located near the pit and had stockpiled the topsoil in the area approved in the permit. As a
result, compliance problem 1, identified in the report of the Division's inspection of the site on 8/28/00, is
considered abated.
As communicated to the operator during the inspection, if the topsoil in the relocated stockpile is not put to
use within a period short enough to avoid deterioration, i.e. one growing season in the Division's opinion,
the stockpile is required by C.R.S 34-32.5-116(4)(8) to be protected by vegetative cover or other means from
wind and water erosion, contamination, etc.
Since the Division, prior to the inspection, had received a technical revision from the operator that
proposed changes in the mining plan that would reflect the operator's current operational intentions,
compliance problem 2, identified in the report of the Division's inspection of the site on 8/28/00, is
considered abated.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Mr. Mike Ferrero
OPERATOR: Mike A.
