III. COMMENTS-COMPLIANCE ~w~hP~ C ~~3-~58
g(h~c7 / ~
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Twin Pines Mine conducted by Jim Stark of CDMG.
The bond for this site has been forfeited and reclamation was completed by DMG.
The weather was cold and cloudy and the ground was dry.
The coal sales/tipple area was well vegetated and in good condition. There was a
small herd of cattle grazing outside the gate to the site but none were observed
inside the gate. The pond contained a small amount of water and appeared to be
in good condition. The access road is a county road and it is well maintained and in
good condition.
The portal area was also well vegetated and in good condition. The road to the
portal area is showing some minor erosional problems (minor rills) but is in overall
good shape. The remaining highwall still appears to be stable and in good
condition. The remaining pond was dry.
Overall both areas at Twin Pines are in good condition.
