III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was an aerial inspection of the Marr Strip Mine conducted by Harry Razmey of the DMG.
Aerial photographs were taken on December 14, 2004, and were reviewed by Mike Boulay of the
DMG. Weather conditions were overcast at the time of the flight, and the photos aze dark due to
the overcast conditions. The majority of the mine site was snow covered.
There was no activity at the site at the time of the flight. The permanent access road into the
mine site was snow packed. The surface facilities area, reclaimed areas, and perimeter locations
appeaz to be maintained and no problems were noted with this aerial inspection.
All sedimentation ponds aze visible in the photos. All of the site sedimentation ponds were snow
covered. The surface of the ponds appear to be frozen, and the water levels seem to be relatively
low. The metal riser pipes are visible at all pond locations. Embankments appeaz stable and no
problems were noted at any of the pond locations.
