(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-7nna-nF7
INSPECTION DATE: 1n/1i/O.s INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: -SA.S-
OBSERVATIONS
1. Apre-operation inspection of the proposed MMRR Quarry was conducted. The proposed quarry site is located S miles
east/southeast of Blackhawk at an approximate elevation of 7,500 feet. Present during the inspection were Alex Schatz of
Banks & Gesso, LLC on behaff of the applicant. Digital photographs were taken and are attached to this report.
2. Light poles were noted along the south (river) side of State Highway 119 near the entrance to the proposed MMRR
Quarry operation. The entrance was also noted to be across and near the Clear Creek/Black Hawk Water Sanitation
District's water treatment plant. The Convenience Store on the south (river) side of State Highway 119 was also noted.
Photographs of the light poles, water treatment plant, convenience store, and entrance to the proposed operation were
taken and are attached.
3. The drainages that occur within the proposed MMRR Quarry permit area were also inspected. First, there is a large
concrete box culvert beneath State Highway 119 at the outlet of the southern most drainage. The drainage was dry at
the time of inspection. The drainage exhibited a bedrock controlled, and/or rocky bottom and was lined with a variety of
woody riparian vegetation. This inspector and Mr. Schatz walked the drainage and followed it to the conFluence of the
upper drainage that will be affected by quarrying activities. The vegetative cover in both drainages included a sparse
cover of wheatgrass and fortis such as fringed sage, and trees and shrubs. The list of trees and shrubs includes the
following: ponderosa pine, juniper, narrow leaf willow, vibes sp., cottonwood, mnt. maple, mnt. mahogany, and woods
rose. Photographs of the culvert, drainages, and vegetation were taken.
4. Attention was also given to the density of trees and shrubs in the areas proposed for waste rock storage, the plant site,
and the quarry. The hillsides in these areas were dominated by mnt. mahogany. There were also junipers and pines
sparsely scattered along these hillsides. There was little, if any, noticeable grass growth. Spaces in between the woody
vegetation seemed to be covered by loose rock. Photos of these features were also taken.
5. There were no eagles, hawks, or other raptors noted in the proposed quarry and surrounding area throughout the
inspection. The only visible evidence of wildlife during the inspection was one songbird, and a few tracks of mule deer.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Mr. Paul Gesso
OPERATOR: Banks & Gesso LLC
STREET: 770 K' ling St„ Suite 117
C1lY/STATE/ZIP: LakPwonri.CO Rn715
cc: Carl Mount, DMG
Mr. Robert L.
