.a • J
•
II. Compliance with Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act
CRS 1973, as amended 34-33-101, et. secl.,
and the
Rules and Regulations Issued Pursuant to the act
This includes a listing of the particular provisions of the regulatory program which were
examined during the course of this inspection, and identifies enforcement actions taken
during the inspection for failure to comply with the Rules and Regulations, the Act and
the pezmit.
4.02 Signs and Markers
The mine Z.D. sign, topsoil marker, and permieter markers are in good shape.
9.03 Roads
All road drainages and culverts were clear and should function properly.
9.05 Hydrologic Balance
With the installation of a principal spillway designed to discharge safely the
runoff from a 25-year, 24-hour storm, sediment pond N3 will meet the design requirements
of the existing approved plan and the construction of this pond can then be considered
complete. Please refer to page 60 of the approved mine plan (dated September,l8, 1979)
for a description of this requirement. This work needs to be completed by July 13, 1981.
Several .urge rocks have fallen into the drainage ditch which runs from the mine
bench to sediment pond N2. Most of these are 1 to 2 feet in diameter and must be removed
in order to prevent breaching of the ditch. In addition, the large PVC pipe immediately
below the bench has been crushed approximately 20' down from the inlet end and needs to
be repaired so that it won't become clogged with dirt and debris sloughing off of the
bench outslope.
4.15 Revegetation
The topsoil stockpile has several grasses (and annual weeds) sprouting on it.
