III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during <br />the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the Twin Pines Mine. The photographs were taken by <br />Harry Ranney of CDMG. The bond for this site has been forfeited and reclamation <br />was completed by DMG. The weather appeared to be clear and dry, <br />The portal area appeared to be well vegetated and in good condition. The pond <br />that remains on the portal bench appeared to be dry. It was well vegetated and <br />appeared to be in good condition. The highwall that remains at the portal bench <br />appears to be stable at this time. The road leading to the portal bench appears to <br />be in good condition. The upper part of the road is filling in with vegetation due to a <br />lack of use. <br />The coal sales/tipple area also appears to be well vegetated. There did not appear <br />to be any cattle grazing at this part of the site at the time the photographs were <br />taken. The pond that remains at this site appears to contain a small amount of <br />water. It appears to be well vegetated and in good condition, <br />From the photographs, both parts of the mine appear to be in good condition. <br />
