(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_ivve_ne~
INSPECTION DATE: (,lA/.SJ~x INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: new
This inspection was conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG along with Shane Cooper of Cooper Excavating. The
inspection was conducted as the result of a Succession of Operator an Transfer of Permit Application submitted
by Mr. Cooper who will be the successor permittee. The site is located approximately 28 miles southwest of
Canon City, Colorado. The pit is situated on the flank of a smolt mountain in inter-montane park country. There
was a mine identification sign present at the entrance to the site and the affected arep boundaries were
clearly marked.
The main purpose of this inspection was to gather information to complete a reclamation bond calculation so
the transfer can be executed. A fair portion of the site has been reclaimed along the southeast 1 /3 of the pit.
These slopes are 3H:1 V or flatter and are exhibiting some vegetative establishment. There is still a moderate
highwall along the northern most mined areo of the pit. Since the mining has not advanced all the way to the
north boundary, it will be an easy task to cut from the top of the slope to achieve a final slope of 3H:1 V or
flatter. If the site is mined out to completion, there will be approximately 6 acres to revegetate. Surface water
runoff is currently directed into a small sediment trap that appears to be fairly porous so that stormwater is not
retained for long periods of time. It is not clear how much deeper the pit can be mined, but the operator is
now planning on maintaining a 3H:1 V slope as mining progresses from this point forward. A full bond
calculation will be completed prior to approving the transfer.
This concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Shane Cooper
OPERATOR: Conner Excavating
STREET: 0469n C'nun{x$onti 97A.
