Dear Mr. Mount:
Clear Creek County has received numerous complaints regarding potential ground and/or
groundwater contamination by Mr. Hazden's dumping of petroleum waste on the ground. Mr.
Harden has a mining permit issued by the State for his property located in Clear Creek County. I
ask that you investigate this matter to verify compliance with the Permit issued by your office
and that Mr. Harden is adhering to all your Rules and Regulations.
The County Environmental Health Department has investigated complaints related to illegal
dumping of petroleum products in the past and that the claim of "gross contamination" was not
apparent. So that you may better understand the concerns, I have included a copy of one of the
complaints received by the Clear Creek County Planning Department in relation to Mr. Hardens
Special Use Permit.
Clear Creek County respectfully requests that you investigate the property to verify compliance
with all your rules and regulations.
