2 <br /> <br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This aerial inspection was flown on June 29, 2000. The aerial photographs were examined on July 7, <br />2000. No compliance problems were observed during the overflight. <br />West Mine <br />There was some water in the pond. The pond embankment appeazed to be stable. The riprapped pond <br />outfall was intact. Collection ditches were functional. Silt fence was in place on the bench outslope. No <br />erosional gullying was observed. <br />There were no signs of slope instability as well. The topsoil stockpile appeazed to be stable. <br />East Mine <br />The roads at the east mine were in good shape. There were no problems observed with any of the <br />facilities. Some underground equipment was being stored on the crushing\screening bench. <br />There were no signs of erosional instability azound the mine site. The west ridge waste pile was dry, as <br />was pond no. 1. The diversiat ditch at the water tank bench was functional. <br />There also were no signs of slope instability on any of the cut and fill slopes, on the old waste pile and <br />on the west ridge waste pile.
