(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: rot-iQRt-777
INSPECTION DATE: n~na/ns/ns INSPECTOR=S INTRALS: SAL
1. A site inspection of the Beech Hill Quarries was conducted in response to the operator's request to increase the
disturbed acreage at any one time from 25 acres to 31 acres. Present during the inspection was Mr. Michael Loukonen of
Loukonen Brothers Stone.
2. The Beech Hill Quarries consist of 7 quarries permitted for a total of 190 acres, and is currently permitted for a
maximum disturbance of 25 acres at any one time. The post-mining land use is rangeland. The operator has posted a
financial warranty of $58,000 in the form of a Letter of Credit to reclaim the 25 acres of disturbance. The seven quarries
are as follows: Helsinki, Gust, Suomi/Reino, Kupio, Dump, Emil, & Katri.
3. The inspection confirmed that the additional 6 acres of disturbance, which consists of a staging area, occur well within
the existing 190 acre permit boundary. A map depicting the location of the proposed 6 acre staging area was provided by
the operator and is attached to this report. The operator has recently filed an application for a permit amendment to
accommodate this change; however, this inspector confirms that the request should be processed as a technical revision
to the permit rather than an amendment. The Division will be sending a refund of $1750 ($1938 minus $188) to the
operator shortly and proceeding with the request as a technical revision.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Michael Loukonen
OPERATOR: Loukonen Brothers Stone
STREET: 1 933 N Foo hills Hwy
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Longmon , CO 8n503
cc: Carl Mount, DMG (via E-Mail)
Attachment
