The Tazamazcaz Pit is a 110c permitted site located just west ofDoyleville, Colorado on the
north side of Highway 50. The operator's representative, Allen Moores met the inspector at the site and was present
for the entire inspection.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers aze in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12.
The sign was located at the main gate to the site. Boundaries consisted of fence lines that were clearly visible and in
good repair.
There aze 4 or 5 small stockpiles of materials of various sizes on site. No equipment was observed within the area.
A test hole was noted; the operator has been investigating total resources still available on site. There were no
highwalls of significant length or height noted.
Some reclamation has been completed. The western edge and the northwestern corner have been sloped to what
appears to be 3hav or better. Vegetation on site is primarily annual weeds of Kochia and Russian thistle. Some
rabbit brush and sage volunteers have appeared, but aze not overly abundant. The operator's reseeding has produced
limited results to date.
The main road into the pit is erosion free. There aze no issues noted concerning erosion, sedimentation, or offsite
damage from storm water run-off near the road or within the mining area.
The general mine plan and reclamation plans appear to be being followed at this time.
No other issues were noted or observed.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3rtl Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no. 970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE
NAME: Marlene Crosbv ^ BL
OPERATOR: Gunnison Countv ^ FS
STREET: 811 Rio Grande ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Gunnison, CO 81230 ^ HMWMD (CH)
^ WOCD (CH)
^ OTHER
