J <br /> (Page 2) <br /> MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M1981-302 <br /> INSPECTION DATE: 10/11/01 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: CARS <br /> OBSERVATIONS <br /> This inspection was done in response to a request from the operator for a partial acreage release at the Deepe Farm pit site. <br /> The request was for a release of 15.8 acres from the current 194.7 acre permit area. No request was made for any financial <br /> warranty release. The operator had flagged the area for which the release had been requested. As noted in several previous <br /> inspection reports, the site has been regraded to the required slopes, topsoiled and seeded. The vegetation is well established <br /> and at least equivalent in cover to adjacent , undisturbed areas. The predominant species are smooth brome and sand <br /> dropseed, other species observed included bluegrass, fescue, bluestem and blue grama. Some drainage improvement work <br /> was done on the site this spring which created a strip of disturbed land about 20 to 30 feet wide and 1200 feet long, or about <br /> .66 acres of the15.8 acre area of the release request. This strip has been regraded, appears to be stable and has revegetated <br /> with annual forbs and perennial grasses.
