Marble, Colorado.
As }'ou know, this quarry is adjacent to our property and the previous operator, Colorado
Yule I~farble Company, was cited by your office in June 1999 for operating outside its
permitted boundary. We aze hereby notifyirtg you that this dumping continues as evidenced
by the attached photos. This conduct is occurring outside Sierra Minerals permitted
boundar}' and is damaging our land.
As you requested, we contacted Sierra Minerals in writing via its attorney Len MacPhee
to determine their position and to find out what action will be taken by Sierra Minerals to
clean up the damage caused by Sierra's dumping. It appears to be their position that the
incident is insignificant, and may have resulted from the actions of a snowplow driver.
~X/lule he indicated that proper procedures would be reviewed with quarry personnel, no
action was proposed to clean up the mess or remove the blocks and other debris deposited
on our land by Sierra Minerals. Therefore, as we previously discussed, we are confirming
pour onsite visit on July 3, 2001 to investigate these violations.
Please call Steve directly at 480/831-6752 to set an exact time and location to meet.
Thank-you for all }'out assistance.
Sincerely,
~~~ ,~
Steve R liim McIn re
1?2U Er\SI' DIVOT DRIVE TFPIPE, ,1R1'LON,\ 85283
PIIONE (4RO) 83')-7561 I'AX (48U) 491 8000
Aimmcin ry rc Qywcst.nct
