(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #
INSPECTION DATE _

INSPECTOR'S INITIALS _
This was a pre-operational inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG along with Raymond
Dellacroce and Ron Turner representing the operators. The site is located south of Monument,
Colorado and approximately 2 miles west of Interstate 25 off of Baptist Road in Section 34,
Township 11 south, Range 67 west of the 6th P.M. The operator is requesting an amendment to
their existing permit which would increase the permit area from 14.6 acres( 11.2 affected)
to 146 acres( 64.8 affected). The current pit is located on the east end of a small alluvial
mountain or ridge that trends from west to east. The amendment will expand the pit to the
west and encompass the remainder of the ridge.
The pit is located in the center of a 700+ acre ranch and as such there are no structures of
concern within 200 feet of affected area boundary. The topsoil is very variable on this site
ranging from zero on the ridgetops to fairly significant amounts in depositional areas below
the ridgetop. The SCS report indicates that the typical soils in this area have 3-6 inches
of topsoil available. The vegetative community is a typical mountain-shrub(oakbrush/mountain
mahogany/chokecherry) with some small inclusions of ponderosa pine. The post-mining landuse
will be rangeland. Apparently the small stock pond that also serves as sediment control
structure is currently not included in the permit area. This will be reviewed prior to
sending out the adequacy letter. Overall, the plan for expansion appears to have adequately
addressed the areas that DMG has jurisdiction over and appears to be a good plan with respect
to minimizing impacts to the surrounding areas. This concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Addr
NAME Raymond and Robert Dellacroce
OPERATOR Raymond and Robert Dellacroce
STREET 2210 West Baptist Road
CITY/STATE/ZIP Colorado Springs.
