<br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection, Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />On May 12, 1994, a partial inspection was conducted at the permanently <br />reclaimed Canadian Strip Mine. Observations of the mine were made from the <br />Marr Strip permit area and from the southern entrance. <br />At the time of the inspection the weather was clear and warm. Spring snowmelt <br />appeared to be over for the past several weeks. The ground conditions were <br />dry. The operator of the Marr Strip mine said that there was one foot of wet <br />heavy snow that fell about 2 weeks ago. Both permanent ponds had more <br />water in them than I have seen in the past 2 years. <br />The vegetation was looking good. <br />No concerns were noted. <br />
