^reirrrn~ nt: Waste I'. I[
A portion of the inspection was dedicated to evaluating the reclamation success
and existence of any potential off-sit:e impacts due to the development waste pile.
The group traversed the waste pile arul c;hserved the vegetation on the top and
along the crest. Vegetation was generally very good as noted elsewhere at this
site. Inspection of the single waste pile outslope indicated some sparsely
vegetated areas populated with a few grasses (western wheatgrass), sunflowers, and
other annual weeds. These sparse areas showed a limited amount of Tilling from
flows occurring on the outslope. This flow did not appear to originate from above
the pile. This pile is a side hill configuration with a 100-year ditch to the
west and north, along with a 100-year ditch at the toe. These two ditches
converge at the northeast corner of the pile where the flow passes through a
culvert under the railroad grade and on La Ciruela Canyon, an ephemeral drainage
immediately east of Lhe pile. The quarterly inspections by a registered
professional engineer were terminated in March 1998 as allcywed by Rule
4.10.2(2)(al following a final inspection report from engineers at CTL/Thompson in
February 1998.
:~
.~T.
~~-
-~
`~
~ •~ . ~
-;
„ -~•
c ~' ~ Pre' '~+ ~ ~ r ~ ..`{'~'~'~' d ~i} -
I, 'St r _ 1~ Z7' ~
y•~{. -'ini[ L ry"C_~ Q~:..r~ q, ~{:~.,,irQ ~ ~~~I is "~, .
ti
,r~ ~ t - J, : G.r~.
,+. ;. ~. s~,r
• ~ ~ .{ ,~
