<br />~,;. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology proposes to reduce the inspection frequency for the <br />New Pryor Strip Mine (Permit No. C-81-031) from an average of 12 inspection per year to twice a year. <br />The New Pryor Strip Mine is a revoked/forfeited coal mine located in Huerfano County, ~/z mile south <br />of the town of Pryor, on Rouse Road. The legal description of the mine site is portions of the SW ~/< <br />Section 19, T29S, R65W 6th Prime Meridian. The permit area encompasses approximately 40 acres. <br />The Division is proposing to reduce the inspection frequency at the mine site because the site has been <br />reclaimed, and poses no imminent threat to public health and safety, or significant environmental harm <br />to land, air, or water resources. No remaining funds exist for reclamation or site maintenance. <br />This decision is based on a complete inspection and a written finding as required by Rule 5.02.2(8)(a) <br />of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34-33-101, et seq., C.R.S., and the <br />regulations promulgated thereunder. Copies of the written finding are on file for public inspection at <br />the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Denver, Colorado 80203, and at the Counry Clerk's Office in Heurfano County, 401 Main, <br />Walsenburg, CO 81089. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the proposed <br />reduced inspection frequency may submit written comments to Harry Bonney at the Division of Minerals <br />and Geology, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203, within thirty (30) days of <br />publication of this notice. <br />
