A site inspection was made of Washington County's Cecil Pit as part of the Division's on-
going 4-year inspection program. The Cecil Pit is located 1 mile east and 9 miles north
of Cope. Present during the inspection was Larry Champ of Washington County.
2. The Cecil Pit is permitted for 9.8 acres. The site will be reclaimed to agricultural
land. No financial warranty is required since the operator is a unit of County
Government.
3. Signs and markers were posted in conformance with Rule 3.1.12.
4. Mining is nearly completed at the Cecil Pit. All disturbances were found to be within the
permit area. The operator has done a good job of contemporaneous reclamation by partially
grading the pit walls. Available topsoil has been salvaged and stockpiled for use in
reclamation. Upon completion of mining, slopes will be graded to conform to the
surrounding landscape. Graded slopes will be topsoiled, revegetated with a grass mix, and
mulched.
5. No problems were noted.
I & E Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Mr. Larry Champ ^ BL
OPERATOR Washington County ^ FS
STREET P.O.
