A site inspection of the Pikeview Quarry was made to review current plans for stabilizing
slopes in Area SF. Present were Mark Heifner, consultant to the operator, and Rick Paraday
of Castle Concrete Company.
2. Castle Concrete has recently submitted an application for a technical revision to the
permit to address erosion concerns noted during an April 3, 1997 inspection. The terms of
the revision were discussed.
3. The upper portion of the outslope immediately south of the Shop Building will be regraded
to a stable configuration during the winter of 1997-1998. The final slope will be
approximately 2.5:1. The gully along the west edge of the slope will also be stabilized.
4. The drainage channel leading from the two (2) large culverts to the sediment basin will
also be stabilized during the winter of 1977-1998. Sideslopes of the channel will be graded
to a stable slope, ie: 2; 1, and revegetated with a grass mix. The channel is now incised
with near verical walls but appears to have reached a stable grade. The operator has
installed a rock weir near the inlet to the sediment basin. Several more rock weirs and/or
drop structures are planned for the channel.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Rick Paraday
OPERATOR Castle Concrete ComDanv
STREET 3820 N. 30th Street
CITY/STATE/ZIP Colorado Sorinas, CO 80901
cc: Mark Heifner
37 East Colorado Ave.
Denver, CO 80210
cc: Jim Stevens, DMG
^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ funwHro (cx)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
