Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative*
I am deeply concerned about the permit as it stands. The lack of future planning in regards to storage of spent
material (after the first on-site holding area is filled in 12-15 months)is enough to warrant a strong pause on
approval until these concerns are addressed and properly planned for.
Another major concern is in regards to water;the acquisition and amount used, even in a so called closed loop
system,as well as the control of runoff. The multitude of residential wells and the proximity to the Arkansas
River headwaters ignites strong opposition. The plan to sample testing wells every quarter is not a proactive
approach-with the possibility of contamination existing for months before being discovered. This poses an
incredible risk to families, livestock, and natural resources.
My final major concern is the stiring up of materials to transport from one location to another. Having had my
personal property undergo a costly remediation to make it safe for my family and neighbors, I learned first hand
the seriousness of dust suppression. I struggle to see how proper dust control can be attained at both the
gathering site and while in transit through the community. I saw no plan in the permit concerning dust and water
use and control at the offsite locations and while in route to the mill.
Please deny the permit as it currently stands.
