Gunnison Ave, Suite 240 <br />Grand Junction, CO 81501-5711 <br /> <br /> <br />Re: Hayden Gulch Loadout (Permit No. C-1992-081) <br /> Permit Revision Application No. 3 (PR-3) <br /> Change is Post-Mining Land use, Boundary reduction <br /> <br /> <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, <br />Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 24, <br />2025, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Hayden Gulch Loadout was considered <br />complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and <br />the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br /> <br />Allowing the ag pasture reclamation to have an alternative post-mining land use of industrial/ <br />commercial to allow for land sales and development. Reducing the permit boundary to contain just <br />the remaining 6.8 acres. Retiring the hydrological monitoring program due to no sites remaining in <br />area. The applicant is not proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the area currently <br />approved for disturbance. <br /> <br />The loadout coal mining operation is on land located approximately 2 miles Southeast of Hayden, <br />Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br /> <br />Portions of: E1/2 Sec. 10, W1/2,SE1/4, and SW1/4 Sec. 14, E1/2E1/2 Sec. 15, NE1/4 Sec. 22, <br />N1/2NW1/4 Sec. 23, S1/2N1/2, and NW1/4 Sec. 24, Township 6 North, Range 88 West of the 6th <br />P.M. Portions of: SW1/4, SE1/4, and NE1/4 Sec.17, SE1/4 Sec. 18, N1/2 Sec. 19, Township 6 <br />North, Range 87 West of the 6th Principal Meridian. <br /> <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle <br />map(s): Mount Harris. <br /> <br />Because the above referenced permit revision application may incorporate additional lands into the <br />permit area or might otherwise alter previously approved permit conditions or mitigation measures, <br />the Division requests to coordinate with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to evaluate the potential
