SSR Mining Inc. PAGE 2/5
filtrate tank and returned to Cell 0 or Cell 4, where it will continue through the existing settling
ponds. The MMF system will include a 6,000-gallon backwash tank for storing backwash water.
Solids containing iron and aluminum, generated during MMF backwash, will be directed to
geotubes for dewatering. Once adequately dried, the geotubes will be transported offsite for
disposal.

If effective, feasible, and safe operation are demonstrated at the bench scale, ozone treatment
may also be incorporated into the system. Ozone will be generated on-site and introduced to the
water stream after filtration. All ozone-related components will be housed in a dedicated shed.

The filtration system will be powered by an on-site 15kW propane generator. An additional 60-
100kW generator will be added to the system for ozone generation if required. Initial construction
plans are subject to change based on system performance. A preliminary flow diagram for the
filtration system is provided below; ozone components are not included, as their design remains
under feasibility review.

3. Please provide details on the size/capacity of geotubes and the anticipated usage rate
that the geotubes will need to be replaced.

The size and capacity of the Geotubes will be determined by the volume of solids generated by
the filtration system and the hauling truck specifications. Preliminary mass balance calculations
estimate that approximately 828 kilograms (1825 lbs) of dewatered solids (equivalent to 497
kilograms/1096 lbs of dry solids) will be produced on-site over a one-month period.

Based on the preliminary mass balance calculations it is anticipated that the geotube will be
changed once per month (e.g. a small 3’x4’ geotube is rated to contain 1,440 lbs of sediment).
Capacity and sizing of the geotubes are subject to change based on system performance and
handling/transport capabilities. Final sizing and capacity will be confirmed once the system is
operational.

New geotubes will be utilized for each cycle, as used geotubes will be disposed of along with
the accumulated solids.

4. In the event a geotube is ruptured, please discuss what measures will be in place to
ensure all materials are contained to the Carlton Tunnel rockfill platform.

Containment berms will be constructed on three sides of the geotubes to ensure that, in the
event of a rupture, no material escapes the platform and any drainage flows back into the settling
Docusign Envelope ID: 2D18F739-39D8-4955-91B8-CEF73FA3A2BC
