CLIMATE
Rule 6.4.11 of the Mineral Rules and Regulations requires the Applicant to provide
description of the significant climatological factors affecting the mine property.
Douglas County is a semi-arid climate, with an average annual temperature of approximately
48 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit ff). Included in this exhibit are figures downloaded from the
website (www.climate.colostate.edu) of the Colorado Climate Center (Colorado State
University) for monthly and annual precipitation, temperature, snowfall, and precipitation
days. The attached information demonstrates a temperate climate with annual precipitation
of approximately 18 inches, and approximately 58 inches of snowfall. Temperatures range
from 18`F (minimum) to 86`F (maximum), with an annual average temperature range
(approximate) of 36 to 64`F. Review of the Precipitation No.of Days graph demonstrates that
the site will generally have less than 3 days per month of rainfall exceeding 0.25 inches, and
less than 1 day per month of rainfall exceeding 1 inch. The intermittent and low intensity
nature of the rainfall is not anticipated to have negative impacts on the mining or reclamation
activities at the facility and likely is taken up by surface soil and vegetation abstraction.
Weaver Consultants Group,LLC
Q:WASTE CONNECTIONSSEDALIAEXPANSION 2024DRMS 112 PERMITEXHIBIT K-CLIMATE.DOCX Re,0,10/2025
K-1
