EXHIBIT D MINING PLAN(corm) <br /> the Mining Plan Map, so importing material would not be needed to <br /> complete disturbed slope areas . <br /> The "direction of mining" arrows on MAP EXHIBIT C-1 - MINING <br /> PLAN MAP show the applicant 's best guess on how mining will <br /> progress through the mine area at this time. Natural ground <br /> conditions and unforeseen circumstances may necessitate changes <br /> to the mining direction throughout the life of the mine. <br /> The RECLAMATION COST ESTIMATE-EXHIBIT L is based on an estimated <br /> disturbance area when the mine has been open for a few years . <br /> The acreage disturbed may increase or decrease as mining pro- <br /> gresses . If it increases, a Technical Revision will be filed to <br /> adjust the bond amount to cover the changed cost estimate. <br /> Initial mine development will begin on the southwest side <br /> embankment just east of the entrance on HWY 85. The plan is to <br /> use portable processing equipment located next to the working <br /> face and limit the plant site/stockpile areas to a minimum and <br /> produce only what can be used over a month or more. Most of the <br /> material will be used inter-company with a few outside sales so <br /> large stockpiles of material are not needed. <br /> The topsoil and overburden will be stripped and stockpiled <br /> around the mining area. Some of this material will be used to <br /> construct a sight berm along the HWY 85 corridor to limit visi- <br /> bility from the highway into the active mining and processing <br /> areas. Any material not used for the sight berm construction <br /> will be stockpiled on the north and east sides to have for build <br /> slopes. The berms will vary in height depending on the area to <br /> be screened, with 3: 1 slopes on each side. As mining progresses <br /> and backfilling begins some of the overburden and topsoil may be <br /> placed on the backfilled area to avoid having to handle it twice. <br /> Operations will begin by stripping an approximate 5 acres. <br /> This will allow mining to start into the gravel slope along the <br /> southwest side of the sand and gravel deposit . A portable pro- <br /> cessing plant will be setup where mining begins and the material <br /> will be stockpiled in the immediate area for use as needed. The <br /> plant may run sporadically depending on the companies need for <br /> material. <br /> Periodically as mining progresses the stripped area will be <br /> extended so there is approximately two (2) acres ready for min- <br /> ing, and 2 acres of stockpiled material and 6 acres being back- <br /> filled for a total of 10 acres . All topsoil will be kept sepa- <br /> rate from the overburden when stockpiling. Overburden and top- <br /> soil will be stored around the mining area for use in reclama- <br /> tion. These stockpiles will be placed strategically in progres- <br /> sion with mining, and in some cases the topsoil and overburden <br /> 8 1/2 Enterprises LLC.
