2025 Colony Mine Vegetation Survey <br /> <br />Pond 4 <br />Survey Date: 8/4/2025 <br />Plant Community: Riparian woodland and sagebrush shrubland. <br />Vegetation Description: Box elder trees with uniform understory of slender wheatgrass in riparian area <br />around the pond. Big sagebrush and perennial grasses (western wheatgrass, basin wildrye, slender <br />wheatgrass, bottlebrush squirrel tail) in upland portion of the east bank and throughout the historical access <br />road. The pond is dry and areas below the ordinary high water mark have high occurrences of musk thistle. <br />Vegetation within reclaimed areas blends well with undisturbed reference areas. <br />Revegetation Status Designation: Maintenance Required. <br />Recommended Maintenance: When pond is dry, treat musk thistle. Use mechanical removal if pond is <br />inundated. Complete three inspections/treatments annually for two years. Estimated cost: $2,400. <br /> <br /> <br />
