2025 Colony Mine Vegetation Survey <br /> <br />Pond 3 <br />Survey Date: 8/4/2025 <br />Plant Community: Riparian woodland and Gamble oak shrubland. <br />Vegetation Description: Box elder and narrowleaf cotton wood trees in riparian area around the pond with <br />uniform understory of perennial grasses, primarily basin wildrye and slender wheatgrass, and patches of <br />panicled aster and scattered noxious weeds. Gamble oak and perennial grasses in upland portion of the east <br />bank. Vegetation within reclaimed areas blends well with undisturbed reference areas. <br />Revegetation Status Designation: Maintenance Required. <br />Recommended Maintenance: Mitigate scattered occurrences of List B and C noxious weeds along pond <br />banks (musk thistle, houndstongue, common mullein). Use mechanical methods due to proximately to the <br />water. Complete three inspections/treatments annually for two years. Estimated cost: $1,500. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
