3. Describe the estimated topsoil depth and how topsoil will be salvaged, stockpiled and
redistributed for the re-establishment of vegetation. Specify approximate topsoil
redistribution depth:
This prospecting effort will not impact native topsoil. The proposed operations will occur
on abandoned mine waste piles which, unless reclaimed, generally do not have topsoil. In
instances where our operations do encounter topsoil the plan is as follows.
Topsoil will be removed in a 1ft square located at the point of drilling and placed on a tarp.
Following boring and back fill of the hole the stored topsoil will be placed in its original
location and hand tools will contour to nearly original conditions and seeded.
4. Describe how drill holes will be plugged (refer to Rule 5.4 of the Rules for required
abandonment procedures):
On the same day of drilling, boreholes will be backfilled with cuttings. Our reclamation
will only consist of backfilling these boreholes with the same material that is extracted
during the drilling process.
5. Describe how portals, adits, shafts, ponds, excavations, or other disturbances will be
reclaimed (refer to Rule 3 and Rule 5 for specific reclamation performance
standards). You may wish to contact the Division for closure specifications.
N/A
Form 2-Public File Page 9 of 14
