5. Describe proposed surface excavation or other land disturbance, including roads, pits,
trenches, waste piles, drill pads and collar areas of underground workings, ponds, etc.
Scope is to characterize the Baby Ruth, Rim Rock#2 &9, Diana piles by drilling 99 (42 &
25, 17,15), 3.25 inch diameter hole borings through the thickness of the pile (max. 50
feet).
Drilling stops when native soil is reached. Boreholes will be logged with a sodium iodide
gamma probe.
Shallow subsurface soil samples will be collected at each borehole for offsite analysis.
Boreholes will then be backfilled with cuttings. The assumed total area of disturbance
per borehole is 9 square feet.
We do not expect any disturbances to roads as we only plan on
using existing roads with light equipment for short durations. No drilling fluids or mud
pits will be used.
6. Proposed Disturbance (approximate) Describe the proposed drilling to be conducted,
including anticipated number of holes, diameter, depth, location, etc. Submit additional
pages if necessary:
A. Described proposed underground work, including reopening of old workings, advancement of
adits or shafts, trenches, pits, cuts, rock dumps,or other types of disturbance, describe type,
quantity and general dimensions:
N/A
Form 2-Public File Page 6 of 14
