Exhibit A Legal Description JD-8 Mine Permit Amendment M-1984-014 The portal area for the JD-8 mine is the old Opera Box mine portal,located at 31423 DD19 Rd,on the north side of Monogram Mesa in Montrose County, Colorado. The JD- 8 mine consists of the C-JD-8 DOE lease tract,the patented Doagy No. 2 claim, and the patented Opera Box claim.- Planned affected acreage for the JD-8 mine is as follows: JD-8 lease tract acre in NE 1/4 NE1/4 Sec 19 Vent hole '/2 acre in NW1/4 NE1/4 Sec 19 Vent hole V _ 6.3 acres in NW1/4 NW1/4 Sec 20 Vent hole and waste dump acre in NW1/4 NW1/4 Sec 20 Topsoil storage Doagy No. 2 claim 6 acres in NE1/4 NW1/4 Sec 20 mine portal, waste dump 5.8 acres in NW1/4 NE1/4 Sec 20 waste dump 0.2 acres in SE1/4 SW1/4 Sec 17 topsoil storage Opera Box claim 0.3 acres in NW1/4 NE1/4 Sec 20 access road The JD-8 portal area is located at . N38° 13' 55.2" W108°46' 11.1" Currently the planned affected acreage on the Doagy No 2 and the Opera Box claims has been affected by the current mining operation. The proposed affected acreage on the JD- 8 lease tract has not had any impacts from the current mining operation. As a result of a re-design of the lower mine waste dump it is anticipated that the proposed affected area on top of Monogram Mesa for the mine waste dump and ore storage pad will not be required,but future exploration drilling may locate sufficient resources to require the use of the upper mine waste area and ore storage pad. The Environmental Protection Plan (EPP)that is being submitted as part of this Amendment is being prepared for the affected area on the Doagy No 2 and Opera Box claims. If the upper mine waste area and ore storage pad is required in the future an EPP will be prepared for this area prior to any disturbance. di° JD-8 Amendment Ex A A-1
