Leigh Simmons 3 October 2025 <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Colorado Department of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman St. Room 215 <br />80203 <br />Leigh.Simmons@state.co.us <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Simmons <br />The Paonia Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forest <br />has completed its review of Mountain Coal’s Technical Revision 158 (TR-158). TR-158 <br />proposes the construction of four new short-term mine ventilation boreholes on four well <br />pads and approximately 879 feet of new temporary low-volume road. Representatives of <br />the Paonia Ranger District inspected the well pad locations and the proposed access road <br />and no resource concerns were identified.
