RIVERCITY <br /> Exhibit G <br /> Water Plan <br /> The proposed mining operation is expected to directly interact with groundwater as excavation <br /> progresses below the seasonal high groundwater table. Water will periodically accumulate in <br /> the excavation pit and must be pumped to maintain safe and efficient working conditions. The <br /> Operator has submitted coverage under the Colorado Discharge Permit System (CDPS) General <br /> Permit COG500000 for Discharges from Sand and Gravel Mining and Processing (and Other <br /> Nonmetallic Minerals Except Fuel). All pit dewatering discharges will be managed in strict <br /> compliance with this permit, which establishes monitoring requirements and reporting <br /> obligations. <br /> A network of monitoring wells has been installed along the project boundary to provide baseline <br /> and ongoing data on groundwater levels and water quality (see Exhibit G—Monitoring Well <br /> Locations).These wells function as compliance points to verify that mining and dewatering <br /> activities do not adversely affect groundwater resources. <br /> Surface water resources in the vicinity of the project include the Colorado River, immediately <br /> south of the site, and the No Name Drain, which traverses the project boundary and will remain <br /> in its natural drainage configuration. The site is underlain by the Unconsolidated Alluvial Aquifer <br /> associated with the Colorado River system. While localized dewatering of the pit will occur <br /> during active mining, no measurable long-term drawdown or alteration of aquifer conditions is <br /> anticipated. <br /> Disturbed areas will be graded to direct runoff as well as ground water into the pit or <br /> reclamation pond, thereby preventing uncontrolled discharge from the site. Perimeter berms <br /> and other erosion controls will remain in place to ensure sediment is contained within the <br /> mining area. <br /> Dust suppression will be achieved through the application of water to haul roads and stockpiles. <br /> Petroleum products and similar materials will be stored with adequate secondary containment <br /> to mitigate the risk of releases. All water handling, pumping, and discharge activities will be <br /> conducted under the conditions of the CDPS COG500000 permit. <br /> In addition to dust suppression and reclamation watering, water will be required for aggregate <br /> processing, specifically for crushing and screening operations. This water use is necessary to <br /> control dust emissions at the crusher and conveyor transfer points, as well as to wash material <br /> where needed to meet product specifications.These operational water demands will be met <br /> primarily from on-site sources (pit inflows and stormwater capture)with supplemental volumes <br /> obtained from permitted off-site suppliers if necessary. <br />
