London Mountain Clean Up
July 2025 D-4

2) No potentially acid-forming waste pile material may be stockpiled at the waste pile location once
it has been excavated from its original source. All potentially acid-forming waste pile material
must be hauled to the London Mine 110D operation for further processing.
3) All hauled waste material will be hauled via haul trucks.
4) No potentially acid-forming waste material is allowed to remain at a site once the isolated pile
containing the material is disturbed.
a. If a waste pile is within sediment control for an area but separate from other piles by at
least 10-ft, the pile will be considered isolated.
b. Once a part of an isolated pile is disturbed, 100% of the disturbed or exposed potentially
acid-forming waste material must be removed from the site and transported for offsite
processing and/or disposal.
c. Non-potentially acid-forming material from an isolated pile may be replaced onsite or
hauled offsite.
3. Mining Timetable
The mining timetable for this operation are highly variable. It depends entirely on the total number of
piles that are found and excavated. In general, it is anticipated that no more than 10 years will be
necessary to successfully excavate and reclaim all of the likely piles within the watershed.
4. Mining Plan for Each Mining Environment
Each mining environment will have additional requirements to ensure mining properly salvages growth
medium and maintains environmental protection.

Trees will be mulched. Topsoil will be stripped to its full depth and salvaged. Salvaged topsoil will be
stored either in a separate area near the waste pile being mined or stored at one of the designated
locations shown on Map C-2. Topsoil underlaying potentially acid-forming material will be hauled to the
London Mine 110D operation for processing or hauled offsite for disposal at a licensed landfill. Loose
native material adjacent to the waste pile that has been disturbed will be hauled to the London Mine
110D operation for processing.
Topsoil and non-bedrock material may be excavated from near a waste pile to support reclamation.
Such borrow material may only be used for reclamation of waste pile areas.

Any topsoil will be stripped to its full depth and salvaged. Salvaged topsoil will be stored either in a
separate area near the waste pile being mined or stored at one of the designated locations shown on
Map C-2. Any topsoil underlaying potentially acid-forming material will be hauled to the London Mine
